Men's DMR Finishes 2nd!!!

What an exciting way to end day 1 of the NCAA Championships. The Men's Distance Medley Relay team finished 2nd in the country!!! The race came down to the last two meters as we were edged out by Wisconsin Stevens Point by .07 seconds. We are currently 2nd in the country as a team with 18 points. Todd will be back in action tomorrow in the High Jump!!!

Wildman Repeats as Pentathlon Champion

Todd Wildman wins the 2010 NCAA Division III Pentathlon Championship. It was an up and down day for Todd, but he fought through til the end. He won the 55m Hurdles and High Jump events, within the five event competition. The heart and determination Todd showed truly makes this win special.

No rest for the weary though. Todd is relaxing and about to start back into his warm-ups for the 55m Hurdle prelims. Those are set to go off at 4:35pm EST.

At 6:05pm EST our Distance Medley Relay will take to the track. Chass Armstrong will be running the 1200 leg, Brennen Peters the 400, Zach Brush the 800, and Bryant Wright will anchor the relay with the 1600m run.

Caitlin Masse will take to the track tomorrow for Women's 5K and Todd will contest his third event of the weekend with the Men's High Jump.

Todd hit a PR in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.19m. He is currently still in first place. High jumping now. More results to come soon! Keep checking the blog.

Todd finished 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 6.74m. He is still currently in first place overall with a score of 1692 after 2 events.

Pent 55m hurdle win!

Great start to the day. Todd finished first in the hurdles with a time of 7.58 crushing his competitors. Domination has started. He leads the pack by over 50 points(that's a lot)!

NCAA Championships

Well, we are ready for the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships. We have 6 athletes who will be competing at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. Caitlin Masse will be representing the women's team in the 5000m run on Saturday. Todd Wildman will attempt to defend his national championship in the Pentathlon, while also competing in the 55m Hurdles and High Jump. Our Distance Medley Relay team of Chass Armstrong (1200 leg), Brennen Peters (400 leg), Zach Brush (800 leg), and Bryant Wright (1600 leg) will be competing a little after 6pm on Friday. Should be a fun weekend, everyone is feeling ready to go! We will be posting updates from Greencastle all weekend long.

Greetings from 30,000 feet!

Right now I feel like track season is officially beginning! Our entire team is finally competing. After months of hard work we are ready to show what we can do. I am flying to Bloomington, IL with Corey Callahan (SO; Austin, TX) and Todd Wildman (GR; Dallas, TX) for the Pentathlon at Illinois Wesleyan University. Competition begins tomorrow at 4pm CT. The rest of our team leaves San Antonio at that time for Lubbock, TX. They will compete Saturday at the Texas Tech Invite.

First BLOG Post!

This is an exciting time for our track and field programs. After two 6th place finishes at the NCAA Championships, a SCAC Conference Championship, an individual National Champion, and more All-American performances in one year than al previous years combined; we are ready for even more in 2010. Our distance athletes are running well in Cross Country, everyone else kicked off fall training a couple weeks ago. In our initial testing with our throwers, jumpers, hurdlers, and sprinters we looked bigger, faster, and stronger than we did late last year. Our student-athletes have set themselves up for a fantastic season ahead.

If you are a prospective student, be sure to check out the information on our track home page and register for our campus visit weekend (December 3-5). If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me. Also, check out our 2010 schedule. We will be competing in San Antonio seven times this year, including five home meets. We will see a lot of great competition all season long.
